The Kansas City Region SCCA General Meeting was called to order by RE Mike McGinley at The Local on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 7:42 p.m.
 
Mike welcomed new people to the meeting.
 
Secretary Report:
Minutes from the December meeting were read. Ken Ragan made a motion to approve, Tara Young seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

MEMBERSHIP REPORT (Paula Diehl, Membership Chair):
Gained 30 members 577 SCCA. This makes KCRSCCA a region leader.
 
Paula made a special presentation of the SCCA 30 year pin to Ken Ragan.
 
SOLO REPORT (Al Hermans, Solo Chair):  
Region schedule all dates confirmed, sanctions numbers received for insurance coverage, first event April 4 T&T & 5 solo 1.
 
Annual tech for solo was at Blue Label Racing, on Saturday March 21st at 10am.
 
RALLYCROSS REPORT (Rueben Samuals, Rallycross Chair):
Trophy’s to Greg Cheney and Andrew Fails
 
First event was last Saturday Feb 22 at I-35 Speedway in Winston MO, 42 drivers 13 were new to Rally Cross, had two sites set out so did not use the dirt track, alternate site worked very well.
 
New stickers for $5 on MSR registration and sold out. More will be printed.
 
Next event the 14th of March at Grain Valley.
 
Registration to open on MSR.
 
Will be a new class for rally cross.
 
ROADRALLY REPORT (David Williams reported):
No report per Mike.
 
SPECIAL COMMITTEES:
Web Report (Mike McGinley):  
All schedules are up to date, site traffic up 13%. Steve Bachenberg won the Glen Sheppard award. Glen’s son Kyle has the compilation of the early years Autocross’s and this is now on the website.
 
Rueben, asked all members to post pictures and comments to both our Instagram and Facebook pages.
 
Mail Mike for broken web site items.
 
Social Events (Lisa):
Banquet was well attended, have been contacted about sites for next year. Please give ideas if you have them now is the time. Lisa’s contact on the website.
 
Daytona 500 watch party was spotty, only 6 people came. The race was rained out, but it was still a fun time.
 
Indy 500 watch party will be May 24th, TBD. Info to follow.
 
Next event, Beer Gimmick Road Rally – Saturday March 28th will visit three breweries. Working on final details. Bring friends and they can talk to members doing things they might be interested in.
 
Rueben can join unnaturally aspirated if you are interested in charity work, August 8th is the date.
 
Children(s) event – need an event for kids.
 
KVRG REPORT (Chris Kern, KVRG Board Member):
April event is on MSR, come out and see what it’s about as we need the help. Cannot get into track until 5 PM Friday.
 
Event on MSR for TT and road race are open, people are starting to register, we will be needing worker help.
 
July event supps will be going to SCCA home office next week. Try multiple disciplines on this weekend, will be unique event.
 
Track Night, will not occur before April event will be the following Thursday. Will be two Tuesday night events, on website.
 
First track night will be Thursday April 23rd, the week after our first race event in April.
 
Race will be at Granite City this Month on 3rd Tuesday, March 17th St Paddy’s Day. Stay tuned, could be crowded. May change from the 17th to the 18th.
 
All track night events open per Jack Track. Lots of perks for working the event. Could even run work. Can join Hagerty drivers club and get $25 off. Many good ways to go and lots of cool cars.
 
Paula Diehl will chair our annual Tire Rack Street Survival School, save the date please come and help. May 30th.
 
Race at Heartland will have a new class spec corvette to group 7.
 
NEW BUSINESS:
Track night in America grant: We submitted for a grant, if we get it we will have an adult street survival school. This event was proposed and explained by Al Hermans. The grant will help us create this event. Will be announced if we get the grant March 20th. Shout out to Rueben’s co-worked for working on the grant. Mike McGinley submitted the grant.
